It is the perfect place to stay for rest and relaxation in the pretty surroundings whatever your reasons are for coming to Farringdon.

We are surrounded by wonderful countryside with many scenic walks along bridleways and footpaths through farmland, woods and meadows.

This year is the bicentenary of Jane Austen's arrival in Chawton where she spent her most creative years. Click on the Farringdon button on the left to view more information.

Excellent pub/restaurant food is served at The Rose & Crown just around the corner (less than a minute's walk from the house), which makes it a convienient place for an evening meal. If you feel like a longer walk, The Pheasant is 10 minutes' walk down to Lower Farringdon.

 

		There is ample parking for cars

The garden at Tangley Hall is a relaxing, peaceful place to sit on a warm summer's day where all that can be heard are the birds and the occasional lawn mower! For the bird watchers, we have many interesting species which visit our garden, from nuthatches to spotted fly catchers and now and again the greater spotted and green woodpeckers will fly in!

There is a tennis court in the garden, which guests are welcome to use should they wish to hone their skills with a racket and ball.

 

Other Facilities are:

• Tastefully decorated and furnished bedrooms, with style and comfort in mind
• Hospitality tray consisting of coffee, various teas, fresh milk on request, hot chocolate, biscuits and mineral water
• Hairdryer
• Central heating
• Bathrobes are provided for the private bathroom
• Lounge area
• Breakfast on the terrace on warmer days

The substantial and delicious continental breakfast consists of:

Freshly baked croissants - still warm from the oven
Slices of cold meat and cheese
An assortment of cereals
Yoghurt
Toast (from home-made bread)
Fresh fruit
Fruit juice
Freshly brewed coffee or tea of your choice.
Home-made jams and marmalade are served when available

Organic and local produce are served whenever possible

Please note:

• We are a non-smoking establishment
• Children over 12 years old are welcome
• Pets are welcome by prior arrangement
• Two (very friendly) black labradors and two elderly cats live here so please consider these animals if you have an allergy!
